Village Farms International Inc. ($vff) delivered solid second-quarter results, with consolidated sales rising 7% year-over-year to $64 million and net income reaching $7.2 million. The company’s cannabis segment stood out, posting a record adjusted EBITDA of $15.3 million, up 16%, driven by improved production yields and a favorable sales mix. Notably, international medical cannabis exports surged 74%, fueled by growing market share in Germany and expanding demand for EU GMP-certified products. Village Farms is also preparing for future growth with its Delta 2 project, expected to add 40 metric tons of annual production capacity by 2027, alongside ramped-up operations in the Netherlands. Management anticipates moderated capital spending and stronger cash flow in the second half of the year, reflecting confidence in operational efficiencies and market expansion.
Earlier in the year, Village Farms introduced the Pure Sunfarms Pink Kush Cured Resin Vape, tapping into Canada’s fastest-growing cannabis category with a product that preserves the strain’s signature flavor and effects in a convenient vape format. This launch complements the company’s strong brand presence, as Pink Kush remains Canada’s top-selling strain. Additionally, leadership changes saw Christopher “Kip” Woodward appointed as Board Chairman, succeeding John McLernon, who remains on the board after two decades of guiding the company’s transformation from produce to cannabis and plant-based consumer goods.
Village Farms’ first-quarter performance also highlighted robust growth, with net sales up 27% year-over-year to $50.2 million and international exports soaring 171%, particularly in the Netherlands and Germany. The company ended Q1 with a healthy cash position of $50.5 million, setting a strong foundation for continued expansion throughout 2026 and into 2027.
Markets will resume trading on Monday, August 31st, 2026 at 9:30 AM ET.
